In our program, we just don't deal with diets, we look into planning meals by including food items that provide all nutrients at recommended levels.

Food that we eat is broken down into various nutrients in our bodies.

What we know of are just the Calories.
Where does this calorie come from?
3 major nutrients Carbohydrates, Proteins & Fats contribute to these total caloric intake. Since they are required in large quantity they are called as Macronutrients

Other nutrients do not contribute to calories but are essential for our bodies' functioning, like Vitamins & Minerals. Since they are required in small quantities they are called Micronutrients.
How well these nutrients are metabolized into our system depends on various factors mainly on the body & the source of food.
