Our body shape depends on which area the fat has been deposited.

If you have belly fat, you are apple shaped & if you have fat on your thigh and buttocks you are pear shaped.
Males commonly have belly fat and is called as central obesity aka abdominal obesity , thus are apple shaped
While females have pear shaped body, as they need to have more fat near pelvic area for child bearing.
However, the recent trends indicate , that females have central as well as pelvic obesity. No word has been coined as yet to define shape of those having a combination of obesity.
Let me tell you guys having either of the body shape is not advisable
