An ideal evening snack, a homemade Gujarati delicacy
Makes
Ingredients:
Besan flour, 1 tbsp
Wheat flour, 2 tbsp
Bajra flour, 1 tbsp
Methi leaves, 1 tbsp, finely chopped
Tofu, 1 tbsp grated
Curd, 1 tbsp
Sesame seeds,1 tsp
Coconut chutney, 1 tsp
Salt, to taste
Rock salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Red Chilli powder, 1/4 tsp
Turmeric, 1/4 tsp
Jeera powder,1 /2 tsp
Lemon, 1/2 no
Oil,1 tsp
Sugar (optional), 1/4 tsp
Ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp (optional)
Method:
Knead a soft dough using the required quantity of water
Take a lemon sized ball & roll out thin chapati
Roast the chapati on tawa / pan on medium flame and turn around often to prevent from burning
While roasting use a soft muslin clean cloth & press on chapati with light pressure
Once the colour changes from both sides, remove it from the pan.
On cooling, the chapati now turns into khakra
Enjoy one as a snack
You can make the Khakra in good quantities & store it in an airtight container.
